Women farmers checking the quality of soybeans in the sown area. These high protein soybeans are improving the diets of 650 villagers, mainly women. - - Production of Autumn Soybean: TFD-99/CPR/003. The project aims to take advantage of the natural resources of Leshan prefecture, extending the already well-developed technology on autumn-sown soybeans and, in so doing, help farmers, particularly women, to increase crop production and improve nutrition.
TeleFood funds have allowed the introduction of a special fast-maturing, high-yielding, autumn soybean and have paid for seeds, fertilizer, tools and training in improved weed and pest control. The high protein soybeans are improving the diets of 650 villagers, 368 of whom are women.
