Background Information
The vast majority of fishing boats in the Philippines are built in the same manner; Frames and stringers are attached to a solid hardwood keel - or 'kasko' ' and then plywood panels are fitted onto the sides and top. The design is narrow and efficient and can be powered by relatively small engines.
