Antimicrobial resistance is a growing global threat, endangering our agrifood systems.
As we kick off World AMR Awareness Week under the theme ‘Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future’, we call on all stakeholders to take urgent and united action against AMR.
The time to act is now.
Agrifood systems are at the center of the AMR challenge and solution.
FAO remains committed to working with all partners across sectors to ensure that food is available, accessible and affordable, as well as nutritious, safe and free from antimicrobial risks.
Let’s act now – together - to strengthen national action plans, transform global agrifood systems, protect the health and livelihoods of current and future generations,
And ensure the Four Betters: better production, better nutrition, better environment, and a better life – leaving no one behind.
Thank you.
