Background Information

Water lilies used to be abundant in the wetlands of Senegal Delta River. However, over the years, intensive rice cultivation has replaced the natural wetlands rich in water lilies. The RESSOURCE Project has helped communities in the Senegal Delta River regain access to water lilies, boosting biodiversity in the area and revitalizing traditional diets.
