Ethiopia, 1953 - This photograph shows a group of Galla and Amhara men standing around a collection of cattle in the middle of the village of Torke in the West of Shoa Province. Four members of the anti-rinderpest vaccinating team of the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture, walk towards the cattle to start work. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has sent a mission to Ethiopia, to help modernize the country's agriculture and forestry. Working there are experts in crop production, animal production, animal diseases' control, rural welfare, forest development and nutrition.
