UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1949. Hybrid seeds
1949 (exact date unknown). United States of America. Dr. L. E. Kirk, FAO Chief of Plant Industry Branch, and Elsie Markley, FAO Agriculture Division, fill the five-pound canvas sacks with seed of Wisconsin-developed hybrids purchased by FAO from experiment stations in that U.S. State. The remaining two-thirds of the seed is being donated this year by the American Seed Trade Association.
