Energy is saved by a controlled burning of fuel. - - Integrated Development of Artisanal Fisheries (IDAF): IDAF/GHA/93/008. The project aims at improving the working and living conditions of over 75,000 inhabitants in Yeji sector of Lake Volta, through the construction of a Community Fisheries Centre (CFC) with facilities for fish landing, handling, processing and marketing, and social services. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is providing help for enhancing the capability of the Department of Fisheries (DF) to establish the CFC, for strengthening the capacity of the DF in the execution of its fisheries management activities, and for creating an environment for rural dwellers in various villages for additional employment opportunities including adaption of agroforestry/tree planting practices to control environment degradation.
