Broll: Controlling invasive plant pests in Zimbabwe
Eucalyptus (gum tree) woodlots contribute to rural livelihoods, providing fuel, wood, boards, construction poles, forage for honey bees, use in tobacco processes, additional sources of income for rural communities etc. This is the story of how a representative from the Zimbabwean Forestry Commission, who has received pest control training through FAO and African Solidarity Trust Fund (ASTF) funding, has been working to successfully investigate and control alien invasive pests affecting Eucalyptus woodlots.
