Exact date unknown CENTRE FOR HORTICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT, Senegal, 1977. Expert and Senegalese counterpart discuss the results of an experimental crop grown at the Centre. This joint project is undertaken by the Government and FAO through an associate expert financed by Belgium. The purpose of the project is the creation of a Centre at Camebrene for experimentation and demonstration of horticultural crops and for studies in the marketing of vegetables; also the establishment of sound basic techniques which will enable the Senegalese grower to increase yields and diversify crops; and to satisfy local requirements for vegetables; to increase incomes; to improve the diet of the local population and to promote the exportation of out-of-season vegetables.
