Background Information Major infrastructure investment helps pastoralists and locals share limited resources in the Sahel.

Transhumant families and their herds pass through Bousra Ndawène, Central Senegal, twice a year. Situated along a transhumance corridor, the village is now better equipped to welcome these mouths to feed, thanks to a new vaccination pen, a water drill, an animal feed storage, a shop and a rehabilitated market.
This infrastructure was built thanks to the large-scale PRAPS project, financed by the World Bank, with the technical support of the FAO Investment Centre.
Just like breeders in Bousra Ndawène, more than 2.6 million pastoralists and agro-pastoralists have already benefited from the project’s activities.
