Background Information
They have received climate resilience fisheries and aquaculture training jointly organized by FAO of the United Nations and Department of Fisheries (DoF), Govt. of Bangladesh. A fisher-folk community has been living in the village of Mathurapur under Munshigonj union of Shyamnagar upazila who catch different types of fishes, shrimp PLs and crablets from the river is the main livelihood options but not be aware on aquatic bio-diversity conservations. The GEF Fisheries (GCP/BGD/055/LDF) project has been taught them of EAFM (Ecological Approach to Fisheries Management) and EAAM (Ecological Approach to Aquaculture Management) as initiative of climate resilient technology.
