GAZA STRIP, Khan Younes, 2010. Emergency Programmes in the West Bank and Gaza Strip
13 December 2010, Khan Younes - A landowner and FAO Project beneficiary surveying his crops.
FAO Project: OSRO/GAZ/912/UK - Immediate support for endangered livelihoods of food insecure farmers, herders and fisherfolk in the Gaza Strip. The overall objective is to alleviate suffering and restore dignity through enhanced food security in the Gaza Strip. The international community and national partners will offer improved humanitarian assistance through a livelihoods approach to build resilience to food insecurity through coordinated and evidence-based delivery at national and household level. There are two specific objectives, firstly to alleviate food insecurity and enhance the resilience of the most vulnerable households through an improved approach to direct humanitarian livelihoods support and secondly, to improve humanitarian delivery through evidence based and rationalized food security information, analyses and coordination.
